  • Is this something you could do?

Pastoral Care is an important and wonderful ministry, showing that each person is special and that we care about them. However, we really do need some more volunteers who would be willing to visit – just to chat, perhaps have a cuppa (if offered!!) take Parish Matters, the Weekly sheet or sometimes to pray with them or bring their prayer requests to church. We need to let them know and feel that they are very much an important member of our church family.

Please do think and pray about becoming a part of our Pastoral Care Team. We need both ladies and gentlemen who would be willing to give some time every so often to brighten up someone’s day.

Could this be you ! Please contact any member of the clergy team who could explain what it involves in more detail. Thank you in anticipation

Christian Aid week 15th -21st May

Poverty is an outrage against humanity. It robs people of dignity, freedom and hope, of power over their own lives. Christian Aid has a vision – an end to poverty – and we believe that vision can become a reality.

Will you change the world in Christian Aid Week by collecting door to door. If you would like to help contact:

  • Sue Burke – 262629
  • Peter Banyard ? 263005
  • Or check out www.caweek.org
  • Visit St Thomas’ Book Stall

There you will find a good selection of Christian books, lovely children’s books and bookmarks. There are Easter cards and greetings cards with Bible verses. There are holding crosses and gift ideas and so much more.

We also have books on the theme of St Matthew’s Gospel, which is the Gospel that the Bible readings will be from for this liturgical year. If there is
a particular book that you would like us to get for you please ring either Revd Monica or Revd Jane.

Did you know? That St Thomas' Church is open for visits every day from 10:00am to 12:00am. Feel free to pop in.
